Attorney Profile:

Scott Bennett grew up in a small town in the Northern California foothills. He is the oldest of nine children and father of six children. His extensive family relationships and circumstances have given him a unique and varied perspective in supporting families through difficult legal circumstances. From the separation and divorce to loss of family members, Mr. Bennett has seen and supported his own family through triumphs and challenges both great and small.

Mr. Bennett obtained an associates degree in Political Science from Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho. While in Idaho he spent a legislative term working for the Health and Welfare Committee of the Idaho House of Representatives and later worked to recover property records damaged in Idaho’s Teton Dam disaster.

Mr. Bennett has a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University with a dual emphasis in Retailing and Marketing. He attended law school in Sacramento at the McGeorge School of Law. He and his wife undertook both the great responsibility and blessing of starting their family while in Law School and perhaps graduating with the greatest distinction of an intact marriage and two children born during school.

After several years in the tech sector as in house counsel, Mr. Bennett arrived in Riverside County in 1987 and has been a witness of the tremendous growth of the County and particularly the southwest area. Mr. Bennett opened his own office in Lake Elsinore in 1990 and moved the practice to Riverside in the early 2010s.

In addition to his local practice, Mr. Bennett represented a local company in Federal Court in a large multiparty trademark action against industry giants. In addition to two substantial and lengthy federal trials Mr. Bennett took testimony from over a thousand witnesses all over the country giving him a background in litigation that few can duplicate.

Mr. Bennett is a well-known face around the Riverside Family Courts. He has been focusing his practice on family related matters including divorce, child and spousal support, child custody and visitation, drafting of wills and trusts, family law and probate property matters and domestic violence, both civil and criminal for over 10 years.
